Bali Tour (I)

Well all, sorry for late posting of my blog... some technical problems occured and now only can I write this post. As I mentioned, I went to Bali for a vacation 3 weeks ago. And, thank goodness the trip was safe. No terrorists bombings, suicide bombs or any deadly master plans of those villains, crooks.

The trip was meant to be a 6 day 5 night vacation with my family and other relatives. The currency of Indonesia is 1 MYR for 2700 Rp. We became millionaires at there! The destinations were selected by ourselves although we had a tour guide. Sounds fun, huh? Yup, it really was fun. Most of the destinations were temples, temples and temples. My mom said that we were there not to just enjoy the fun, but to experience their primitive lifestyle and culture. It cannot be considered as primitive, but not too modern too. So it called modern-itive. Haha.

We stayed at a resort called Harris Kuta Resort, a 4-star rated hotel.  It was opposite the beach, so we could go there and enjoy the sea breeze. Well, we also saw a lot of tourists from Europe and America.  They went to Bali for 2 reasons, or maybe 3.The reasons are:
  1. Sunbathing (very common, the whole beach is filled with tons of them)
  2. Surfing (common, at the airport a lot of them carry a big surfboard around, even larger than their luggage)
  3. Investment (uncommon, we don't see them talking the deal but most of the pubs and restaurants are invested by them)
About the populations and the religions, you will definitely be surprised. Although we know that Indonesia is a Islam-based country, most of the people at Bali are Malays that are Hindu in religions. 87% of the people on Bali are Hindu, cool huh? Islam only covers less than 5 % of the populatipn at Bali. So, when you go to Mcdonalds, trying to order a Big Mac, you won't be able to order any. Oppositely, you will see that the menu contains Pork Burger. Woah, Bali rocks!

Let's finally start the tour: starting from the airport at Bali. The airport was called Denpasar Ngurah Rai International Airport. It's named after a brave Hindu warrior in the picture below.

He looks smart, doesn't he?

My family arrived at Bali 1 day earlier than my relatives. So we got to explore more of Bali. Well, nothing special was on the first day, just that we arrived there and had Mcdonald as dinner. Their convinience marts are not called as 7-11 or Guardian or Watson, but known as M Mart and Circle K. There was only 2 bottles of 500ml mineral water supplied by the hotel so we had to buy our own mineral water. And guess what? A mineral water costs 4000~6000 Rp per bottle (1500ml), and buying a dozen of mineral waters costed approximately 60,000 Rp.

Ok, going to Penang now. Will update rest of the tour soon. TTFN.

Going To Bali

It's December now, and quite many students are attending tuitions classes everyday. Well, while others are tuitioning, my father saved me from the wrath of tuition by bringing our whole family to Bali, Indonesia~~ lol. Now, I'm still at Singapore, waiting for the next plane which heads to Bali.

How do I feel of my trip? Well, we were going to take the Singapore Airlines from Penang to go to Singapore, but it turned out to be Silk Air instead, making me feel so "zzz". The economic breakdown must have caused it to become like this... but never mind, the next plane to Bali will have interactive touch-screen games and entertainment. So, I think it's gonna be fun. ^^

I think this is gonna be a short post, so I'll try to put up some pictures. TTFN.

Back From Genting

Well, I went to Genting for the 21th Century International Arts Competition with JSPO for Music Band Competition. We went in two teams: Team A and Team B. I was in Team B with most of the Form 1 and Form 2. We set out on 23 of November on 7.00am in 3 buses. I was in Bus B...

There were a lot of interesting matters that we faced when we went to Genting(the venue where competition was held). But there was one which was too devastating.  One of the buses met an ACCIDENT. Their bus was going up the hill and then their bus's engine suddenly faced problems. The driver tried to pull the handbrake, then the handbrake broke and then the bas went down like CRAZY. The wise driver(considered by our teacher) immediately made the bus turn to the side and the whole big balooka fell into the drain. Netherless, no one was wounded seriously. Only a few students had minor injuries.

By that time, our bus had already arrived at Genting. We were waiting for the other buses. One was involved in an accident and the other had a flat tire. An unlucky day.  The students that were involved in the accident received help from the poilce and a lorry that came to pick them all up to Genting International Convention Centre aka GICC. The sky was raining at that time. A coincidence or ...? They reached GICC later around 5 o' clock. I wanted to put up a picture of the bus but I don't have it... sorry.

Now, want to know the funn things that happened in the bus?? One of my seniors, FM(I won't disclose the full name) immediately took out his pphone and recorded the whole situation. He kept asking the others "Do you have any comments regarding this accident" , "Any opinions on how this accident happened" and etc. The driver's door was stuck while  in the accident and no one could get out. He even helped to pick the poker cards and UNO cards that scattered on the floor. The emergency exit? Don't even mention about it! The door handle of the emergency door broke when being tried to open by the victims in the bus. SO, how did they get out?

A trespassing bus and car saw this and came to give some help. They pound open the drivver's door which was stuck and let all the students come out slowly. Then, we assembled at the lobby. So the matters regarding the accident... I think it's over. Hey, wait a second! We were also on the news~~~ Duh, the reporter said in a dull and sleepy interesting accent that" Breaking news Here are news regarding Genting Highlands. A Jit Sin Philharmonic Orchestra Bus that went towards Genting for a band competition has met an accident. 38 students and 2 teachers were stuck in there but are evacuated safely." Everyone instantly was being watched by millions of audiences with their video that was captured by the news reporter that went there.

Now for the results... Team A got 76%, a silver award while Team B got 70%, also a silvrer award. Yay~~ But a music band from Thailand achieved an astounding score--87%, GOLD WITH DISTINCTION. OMG. They're very pro as they also performed for the closing ceremony + achieved OVERALL CHAMPION FOR BAND CATEGORY. On the other hand, our school's JSCO got OVERALL CHAMPION FOR CHINESE ORCHESTRA CATEGORY. They were overjoyed and thrilled with their achievenment. They sang the Jit Sin school song after receiving the prize. So touching... There was also a dance competition and the OVERALL CHAMPION FOR DANCING CATEGORY was Nutscrew from Singapore. A dance group that dances "machine dance"

So, glad with the results? Of course. So I'll be signing out from here. Any questions regarding the 21th Century International Arts Competition or the accident that you wish to ask, you can ask me via MSN. Ok, this is my best post + TTFN.

Simple Post

Well... today is another lovely day because... we don't need to go to school, HAHAHA. Actually, it's not funny, duh. But, most JSPO and JSCO students(including me) need to go to school for practice~~ It's for the "21th Century International Music Festival" competiton's practice. There's another 2 more practices for me on Thursday and Friday-5.30pm~9.00pm. I'm almost gonna like, spit blood outta my mouth. Demon-like trainings, but quite fun.

Ok, tomorrow 18/11/2009 is gonna be the SPM exam. Woah man it's not gonna be as easy as PMR any more... especially the P.Moral. Oh ya, anyone going to Genting Highlands on 23~26 November? JSPO and JSCO are there, performing the dazzling and stunning musical performances... I heard that it was entrance-free and everyone from the world is gonna be there and surely will be a blast!

Yesterday, the student modal results came out and the male was Wei Lun while the female was Zhi Ning.I felt that Wei Lun quite deserved to be elected ,though. Everyone kept asking me whether I was feeling disappointed or sad and I just said no. Well, to tell the truth there's 10% sad only because I've already expected the results... LOL. And it seemed to be a strange day for Jia Win because first Zi Xin did not get elected, next he lost his debate and finally, he was the BEST DEBATER. Kinda mixed up, huh?

Oh well, gotta get going. TTFN.

Special Thursday

Today, JSHS Form 2 students went to school to take each's report card. Well, I also got there and received mine. My class, 2A3 was at DK 1 with A1 and A2. It was awfully squeezy when it started. I waited for quite a long time until my mother came and got the number 19. The teacher talked with my mother and said I was quite good and bla bla bla. Then she referred tomy Form 1 results and found out that the form results were the same. Lol.

Then I went home and looked at the calender... Friday+ Monday + Wednesday + Thursday + Friday=5 days. So, we 2A3 have only merely 5 days left... And most importantly, when we go to other classes, we MUST still keep in touch~~ I'll try to get all the class e-mail from Hui Wen and add everyone.^^

Besides that, 09/11/09 was the 20th anniversary for the collapsing of the Berlin Wall... We can see that all of the Germanians were very happy and joyful. Happy Berlin-Wall-Collapse anniversary~~ TTFN

Mixed Feelings

TODAY, 6/11/09 is JSHS's graduation ceremony for Form 5 & Upper 6 students. I think that everyone there might have cried like little kids, (though the causes of crying are different). But for the others, it's a non-schooling day. ~YAY~

Mr Lim of the afternoon session said that we were NOT ALLOWED TO COME TO SCHOOL, and he (repeated+emphasised) this point thrice. Woah, it's the first time I heard anyone telling us NOT TO COME TO SCHOOL. Anyway, it's good because we get the chance to R&R.

Yesterday, our classs had a pass-the-box-on-musical-chair game, held by Madam Deishi. The game is easy to play.

  1. Everyone chooses a spot to sit.

  2. Play the music and pass the box to another.

  3. When the music stops, the one holding the box has to take a prize punishment from the box.

  4. Do the punishment and he/she is kicked out.

  5. Repeat steps 2-5 until the last person.

And there were so many types of punishments prepared by Claire.

  • Xu Yang had to go and kiss each corners of the classroom(He kissed his hand but we didn't mind).

  • Ling Xing had to remain serious for 1 minute 45 seconds despite what things we did to make her laugh and she managed to stay serious. Two thumbs up!

  • XuYan had to hold hands with the one whose birthday was nearest with him FOR THE WHOLE PERIOD. And the answer: Josephine~~ They held hands under a paper. Lol they seemed to deserve the nickname as "The Stubborn Pair".

  • Jia Win also got one. He had to keep yawning until someone yawns.

  • Josephine met he punishment--KISS A BOOK INSIDE AND OUTSIDE WITHOUT OPENING THE BOOK and she managed to do it.

  • Chia Wei had to pin Li Zhe's school uniform with her eyes clothes and she did it professionally.

It seems fun but it is quite thrilling, like a game filled with perils. Ok, gtg. TTFN.

Time Goes By Quickly

Aww man it's been quite long, for almost two months weeks I haven't update my blog and now I'm finally doing it. Well the calender now shows the month 11 and also means that the holidays are going to be back again, and I have the feeling of going to enjoy this long-anticipated holiday.
Holidays were meant to let us REST and RELAX right? But I find out that a lot of us face this unwilling situation.

Example:
  1. "XXX, you'd better get down right now and prepare to go to your Mathematics tuition. If you don't get down I'll pound your computer pieces!"
  2. "XXX, are you ready? You are going to be late for your training camp if you keep on dawdling around. Don't make me tear and rip all your books alive!"

Kinda crazy, don't they?Well, these are homemade situations but it is actual. Like I said holidays are for us to R&R but I see a lot of parents are very concerned about their children's future. The parents already send them to next year's tuition class when the holidays just began. I know the feeling, it's like WTF or even worse, SH*T.

All good things must come to an end, and that's for real. There's not much time left for our classmates to spend the remaining days together. A series of games and activities are going to be held by our English teacher and our BM teacher will have a 'drama kecil', known mostly in English as mini-sketch.

Just hope that we can go to the time headquarters to terminate the process of time but it's just not logical. So, enjoy the time left before the real challenge arrives. TTFN.

Festive Seasons

Let's see:
Chinese New Year passed
Hari Raya passed
Now it's Deepavali~~~

Festival Of Lights--That's Deepavali and most Indians of our country celebrate it TODAY(17/10/09). For me, this is a good time to play online games because have 2X Exp. Walau. But it's too bad that my computer needs to be formatted because some hacky virus entered "his" body and "he" got sick.

Just going to post a short one, so HAPPY DEEPAVALI~~

Inglorious Day

So, today is the 9th day after our exam... and all the dratted results have finally come to us. Some were glad with BM paper, no no wait a second it's actually >> none were glad with the BM paper. It's just because our most beloved and respected teacher-- "Miss" Wong Lee Ean marked our paper so strict until no one get 80 above, walau. So, all so unhappy plus a few friends also failed... Never mind, failing BM doesn't mean the sky is coming down. Just keep on trying and wish don't meet with a teacher so lenient strict again.

Here's a funny fact about one of my friends-- Zi Wei.
It's just that he FAILED his first and second semester BM paper and still got an average mark of 61.XX for his total BM for the whole year. Man, has he married Lady Luck??

My results weren't very good nor very bad. Want me to list out all the results? Ok, but don't laugh at my poor results OR don't say I'm a little overzealous. My average so disappointing... Chia Wei of my class had 89.58% for average and is so damn HIGH. Time's up and TTFN.

About Doomsday

Why are we talking about doomsday? Everyone thinks that it is VERY far away, but some don't think so. The Romans predicted that the Earth can survive in 5 sun millenniums, then it will become "extinct". But, the point is, the Romans said that the 5th sun milennium started from year 3025-5125(Roman calculation of date) and the year 5125 is the 15th of December 2012...

The movie that going to be on cinemas <<2012>> is also showing about doomsday... So realistic lah because doomsday may come in three years time and:
1) Some people plan to get rich in three years
2) Some people plan to get married in three years
3) Some people plan to travel to the moon in three years
4) Some people plan to "naik-pangkat" in three years

Let me tell some facts doomsday(if it comes in three years):
  • Even if you are the richest in the world, like Bill Gates, you can't buy the Earth's safety with all your fortune.
  • If you are under loan-sharks attacks, you won't need to worry because in three years time everyone and everything might be gone, including your debts...
  • If you are a patient suffering from those hard-to-cure diseases, three years them will finally release you from the disease's wrath.
Why is this happening anyway? Like the post(click here to see) Jia Win posted in his blog, we are not protecting Mother Earth! Let her suffer and we will suffer the same faith too...

I'll continue next time and by the way, the movie <<2012>> is surely going to be a blast!

Feelings After Exam

Well, as we (JSHS students) know, the very fun exam is finally over. Some cried until the whole classroom flooded, some also hit each other in the face as their "celebrating action". My class was the worst, just seconds after the exam paper was taken out of the classroom by the teacher, everyone started babbling(X100)... I felt bewildered, as if yesterday was just the beginning of the exam and now it's over? That was so damn fast.

Now, I'm sitting in front of the computer, writing this post and playing games. I thought that i might use this so-called "long" break to rest myself... But, the results turn out that i have become 100%+50% addicted to my computer. The reason is easy, games!

Yesterday was also the preparation for PMR exam and I was very damn exhausted. I carried almost 11 tables up and down from the 3rd floor~~~ It almost killed me but since almost 60% of the other boys ran away and left a few(not more than 3), i decided to help them. The implications are:
1) My hand almost broke down, i could nearly lift my arm and then break it.
2) I couldn't even press the "on" button of my computer.
3) I couldn't even sleep the whole night. Walau A!

So, i guess a lot waited this new post for a long time, and so i have passed up my latest "homework". Happy reading. TTFN.

P/S: I am lazy to putcolours!

Bm Paper 2

Next week is BM paper 2 and i thought that I could read the kapten hassan novel during holidays but... Oh gosh, the paper is next week. Now I have to spam my reading time more to finish it.
And also, sivik + moral is going to make me feel like being dehydrochlorinated. Yucks!
Why don't the exam come slower???

Implications Of Absent Maths Teacher

Our "easy-go-lucky" maths teacher was absent for the classes before... and I just did a tiny bit of revision on our last chapter for 2nd semester exam-- transformations.

I read this chapter 2 times briefly, but now it really freaks me out~~~ Translations are quite okay, but reflections and rotations are "you-know-how-easy-it-is" for most of the pupils who don't go for maths tuition.

I learnt a 50% of translation from my "self-learning program"-- Kumon and my maths teacher boosted up the other facts regarding the translations section.

After being absent for "a few classes", our teacher had to rush to get us complete our chapter 11 before the exam starts. I hope the teacher manages to finish teaching us by next week to have sufficient time for us to do some revision.

Signing out from here, TTFN.

Very Bored

I don’t know what should do these days…
Download songs, read books, play Maple, Rubik Cube (although very noob, but I still can get 3 faces done), and bla bla bla…

Merdeka passed, giving us a good Monday holiday, but… next Monday is also a holiday… makes me so glad.

Glad on the holiday, but also feeling that holidays are very unfair… always drop on Mondays. Why don’t drop on Fridays? Then also become three-day holiday and I don’t need to do my weekly routine at school.

I also wonder daily, can’t I do any other jobs other than cleaning the
chalkboard and the thousand years-old stained windows? Sometimes it’s not good being too “short”.

Until now, fellow readers who paid this visit here… thanks.

Yours truly,
Just Me, YJ

New Look

Finally, this blog been refurnished...
I'll try to be online and update posts...
